Hi I’m Deb! I have been taking care of babies and children since I was 10 years old and my parents sent me off most summers to nanny for relatives for a month or two each summer. Finding I was rather good at this and could make some extra money I promptly filled most of my free time as a babysitter for many neighbors, friends of my parents, friends, and friends of friends until I had my own little one! Then I began helping my friends and theirs learn how to take care of their newborns and integrate them into their families. I nannied / babysat through college for fun and to help pay for tuition. I graduated college with a degree in teaching, but went in to healthcare instead and was a Respiratory Therapist for almost 20 years with much of that time spent in pediatrics and the Intensive Care Nursery.
I am a Mom and Grandma, and Aunt, and have been helping new Moms and taking care of babies forever. I finally retired from healthcare to become a Postpartum Doula professionally, since I have been doing it for most of my life and love it! I look forward to being there to help guide you as a new mom with physical, emotional, and educational support. I can assist you and your family with newborn care techniques, breastfeeding, and help you become attuned to your baby’s needs and expressions. I look forward to helping introduce this new Little One into your family! This is just the beginning of our postpartum journey together!
